Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) – Bapple Software Solutions

Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: May 20, 2025

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes the types of activities that are not allowed on Bapple Software Solutions’ network and services. It forms part of our Hosting and Service Terms. Bapple reserves the right to request changes, disable, suspend, or terminate any website, account, database, or service that does not comply with this policy. We may also make modifications in an emergency at our sole discretion.

To meet the changing needs of our customers, our business, the Internet environment, and legal requirements, this policy may be revised at any time. We encourage all customers to review this policy regularly.

If you believe you have discovered a violation of this policy, please report it to: support@bapple.co.za.

1. SPAM and Unsolicited Email

Sending unsolicited commercial communication (email, SMS, instant messaging, etc.) is strictly prohibited. Examples include purchased mailing lists, “safe lists”, opt-out emails, or persistent communication after an unsubscribe request. Violations may result in suspension or termination, with clean-up or blacklist removal costs billed to the offending customer.

2. Offensive Content

We do not permit content that is pornographic, sexually explicit, violent, hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, illegal, or related to piracy, fraud, gambling, drugs, or terrorism. We may suspend, remove, or report such content without notice.

3. Misuse of Account Features

Account features may not be resold, abused, or used to enable anonymous/abusive behavior. All features must only support the customer’s own websites and services.

4. Shared Systems and Resource Usage

Excessive or disproportionate use of resources (CPU, memory, bandwidth, queries, etc.) on shared systems is prohibited. Limits include no more than 500 emails/hour, 10 concurrent MySQL connections, and no binary file storage in databases. Accounts exceeding limits may be suspended.

5. Server-Side Processes

Unattended server-side daemons or cryptocurrency mining are not permitted on shared or managed servers. Excessive resource loads may result in suspension or account termination.

6. Internet Abuse

Illegal, abusive, or irresponsible activities such as hacking, phishing, malware distribution, mail bombing, denial-of-service attacks, or spreading pirated material are prohibited. Violators may face suspension and legal reporting.

7. Security

Customers must maintain strong security practices (secure scripts, up-to-date software, strong passwords). Weak or compromised accounts may be suspended. Minimum password requirements: 11+ mixed characters with case variation.

8. Disk Usage

Excessive file counts (200k+), catchall mailboxes, or storing emails older than 5 years are not permitted. Servers may exclude such files from backups. Managed Servers nearing capacity must be cleaned up within three notifications to avoid service failure.

9. Traffic Usage

Unlimited traffic policies are intended for web hosting, not bulk storage, archiving, or large-scale streaming. Public mirroring, bandwidth resale, or traffic redirection is prohibited. Rate-limiting may apply to maintain network stability.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may revise this AUP at any time by publishing updates on our website. Continued use of our Services indicates acceptance of the changes.
